Microhardness at Geller MicroÅnalytical Laboratory is accomplished using a Zeiss mini-load indenter. We have both Vicker and Knoop indenters as well as NIST standards to offer you traceable measurements. One of our specialties is measuring the hardness in thin samples or thin films where the indent should be no more than 10% of the film thickness so the substrate does not influence the result. By combining the microhardness testing with SEM analysis we are able to measure micrometer sized indents. This means we can determine the hardness of >0.1um films. We are also skilled in placing indents with micrometer accuracy on your samples. |
